The Waldmann brand stands for innovative lighting solutions.
Founded by Emil Waldmann in 1928 in the city of Villingen-Schwenningen in the Black Forest, Waldmann is today still family-owned and has multiple sites worldwide.
Waldmann develops and manufactures high-quality luminaires for office, industrial, health and care, and specialist medical applications. The Waldmann philosophy is to make the best luminaires and systems possible to deliver the best results and, ultimately, to improve the lives of its users.
Sustainability is at the forefront of everything Waldmann does and we are proud to have the world’s first Cradle-To-Cradle certified office luminaire to our name as well as an environmental consciousness that makes our factory one of the most efficient and minimally impacting in the entire lighting industry.
Is there anything you would like to make delegates aware of ahead of the Regenerating the Workplace Conference?
Office workspaces need to adapt and, through using data analytics, need to be more flexible. The new LTX system from Waldmann uses sensors and a cloud-based dashboard to display and analyse the environmental conditions inside an office or other workplace. Alongside the LTX desk-booking system this enables facilities, HR, or other managers to optimise the workplace for social distancing and infection control while simultaneously enhancing the well-being of the occupants. Air quality, temperature, noise levels, and other parameters can even be displayed to the users at their desks, and the built-in control has pre-programmed (plug-and-play) algorithms for human-centric lighting. Optional integration with existing BMS systems enables automatic adjustments to be made, with no direct input needed by the administrator of the system.
Air sterilisation using the Waldmann Zapp! – with a shielded UV-C source for safe continuous use, even while the room is occupied – kills 99.99% of airborne viruses, bacteria and mould spores in the air passing through the device. Operating all the time a room is occupied, or 24 hours if preferred, the Zapp! helps clear the air of contagions minimising the risk of spreading infection.
What do you feel are the key points delegates need to digest when considering a partnership with your organisation?
Waldmann is nearly 100 years old and has decades of experience in the user-centric and medical fields and a track record of working with some of the biggest and most prestigious companies worldwide. We are a trusted partner for health and well-being in offices, hospitals, care homes and factories and were pioneers in the human-centric approach to lighting many years before most other companies had even heard of it.
Do you want to add any other key points?
Infection control and the tools to operate a safe workplace in the face of threats like Coronavirus are not only for the current pandemic. Every year businesses lose significant revenue and efficiency from common ailments such as the flu, and other contagions. Putting systems in place now, that enable a business to continue to operate will help prevent future widespread disruption such as that which the economy has experienced over the past 12 months.
